June Faire Report

Saturday at June Faire, the youth of the Kingdom took to the field in great honor and Chivalry. We had four youth enter the tournament three of them were from the Barony Aquaterra and one from our very own Dragon's Laire. In the Lion Division we had Riley, in the Griffin Division we had Owen, and in the Dragon Division we had Hakon (SP?) and our very own Baronial Youth Armored Combat Champion Caitlyn of Llyra Tor. We were also visited by the Kingdom YAC Warden THL Jolgeirr Alarason and his two son's, They were a big help with the tournament and also with promoting the YAC program with the spectators watching the events of the day, we made many new contacts and I hope they all pan out on the new comers night and the ranks of the Yac grow within the Barony. So with all that said on to the Tournament results.

Since we had only one Youth for the lion and Griffin Divisions Riley and Owen took on THL Jolgeirr's son's in a few battles that were epic and also very humorous at the same time, Then we had Hakon and Caitlyn do a few warm up fights before they both fought in the final match with each other. when they were good and warmed up and after a few minor armor repairs we were set to the finals which proved to be a battle that will be talked about for ages to come. We had a best of five match and both competitors won two matches and it came down to the final match and in a Fierce blow for blow match Hakon rose from the dust as the victor! Nothing is to be taken from Caitlyn as she fought with great honor and Chivalry for her Barony and her House, she is definitely going to be a force to be recon with at the next tournament! I would also like to thank THL Ian Mackynnes for performing the heraldry for the final match, and to THL Steven Desjardin for his Marshaling assistance it was greatly appreciated, and to Lady Cearra for running the list. Thank you to anyone that I may have forgotten, if you helped me out at some point over the day I say thank you, And thank you to the entire Barony!

The Youth Combat Marshal announced recently: I have put a lot of thought into this and finally decided ( I also wanted the new Baronial Website to Launch so I did not take from that) that it was time, So it gives me great honor and makes me proud to launch the Yahoo Group's page. It is a little rough at the moment it is still young, I will be adding files and pictures as i go. Practices

Weekly practice will begin on Tuesday May 8, 2012 and then will be every other week from that date. The practices take place at the weekly Baronial get-together and Fighter Practice at the VFW Hall in Silverdale.

Youth Combat Currently Needs:

From an email sent to the Baronial list on 02/28/2012

• Tabards: I would like to make new tabards for the youth gear that is the baronial colors.
• Armor: Adding leather to the youth helmets for the c-spine protection.
  • I have the leather (Thank you to Kamar of Hawk and Dove)
  • I need chain maille rings to secure the leather to the helmet
  • Any upkeep that might be needed for the armor sets that I do have.
• Shields: I only have one shield and would like to have a couple more
• Swords: I still need to put the swords together and need the following
  • Duct tape or athletic tape
  • Camping mat, yoga mat foam
  • Double sided tape
• If anyone has any ideas on how to make basket hilts for the swords that could fit a kids size hockey glove that would be great
