Autocrat: Galwin McGilliland. Feast and entertainment to celebrate his daughter's birth. More than 70 people attended.

June 8 to 10 - June Faire - June 8 to 10 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrat: Lord Alyosha Dmitri Nicholovich. Sir Skaggi Norcross won the Champions Tourney. Sir Strider of Duramen won the Ransom Tourney. Lord Cedric Godwyn won the Novice Tourney. Shannon & Kristopher of Duramen won the Castle Building Contest. Galwin (1st) and Lord Eoghan O'Neal (2nd) won the adult boffers. Roland von Pfeffar (1st) and Kristopher of Duramen (2nd) won the children's boffers. Lars was selected for best death. Champion archer was Lord Juan Carlos de Montoya, he also won the combat archery, the longbow, and the moving target category. Lord Bjorn Kolbjornson won the Crossbow.

Kitsap County Fair Demo - August 22 to 26 - Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Silverdale

Autocrat: Deorwine Aet Earneleia. The booth set up outside the pavilion was manned for ten hours per day for five days. There was a fighting demo on Sunday.

Dragon's Fest - October 6 - Longbranch Improvement Club in Lakebay

Autocrats: Lady Ellen, Lord Eric, and Lady Isolde. The fest was attended by 62 adult SCA participants, 24 adult guests, 31 Individual Achievement Students, and 52 other children for a total of 169. Dragon's Laire received a thank you letter from the class of children that attended. Lady Roxanne and Lord Bjorn won the Dragon subtlety contest. Lady Ceit Sheelin and Her Ladyship Adrian won the autocrat bribing contest. Many children's games. Much archery, but only three heavy fighters due to a knighting ceremony held elsewhere. Potluck feast and good entertainment.

December 15 - Dragon's Jubilee - December 15 - Mary Theler Community Center in Belfair

Autocrats: Roxanne and Adrienne Barclay of Dunottar. Approximately 60 people attended the wedding of Theodoric the Scholar and Gabrielle De Cameron.

Candlemas Celebration - February 16 - National Guard Armory in Port Orchard

Autocrat: Sorcha ni Murchada. Games, Dancing, potluck feast. Attended by approximately 40 people including some from Port Townsend.

Ithra - March ? - Silverdale Community Center in Silverdale

Autocrat: Lord Mateusz z Plock. Master Siegfried the Immane and Her Ladyship Rose Scarlet taught classes on marshaling and how to be a constable. About 35 people attended.

May Crown - May 17 to 19 - Mason County Fairgrounds in Shelton

Autocrat: Lord Mateusz z Plock. Assistants: Lady Ellen Fraser, Her Ladyship Kassandra, and Sgt. Hrollaugr Njálsson. Merchantocrat: Lord Eoghan O'Neal. Eric reservations and on site mapping and building: Lord Ian MacKynnes. Location maps & Graphics: Lord Theodoric the Scholar. Biffyocrat: Lady Ellen Fraser. Camping Master: Lord Bernett. Eric set up and Maintenance: Sgt. Hrollaugr Njálsson. The Shire of Shittemwoode was invaluable in providing a meal service to the people of the shire who were so busy working that they didn't have time to cook. Clench a wench had its own building. Good equestrian turnout. With 1,300 people this was at the time the largest and most profitable Crown in An Tir's History.

June Faire - May 30 to June 2 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrat: Lady Megaine of Kirkudbright. The event was attended by her Majesty Octavia as well as 500 SCA participant and more than 1,500 members of the modern public, despite the worst weather of any June Faire so far. It heralded the first appearance of High Octane. There were the traditional stone soup and shire breakfasts. Duke Thorin won the Champion's Tournament. Also held were the traditional ransom tourney and the dragon meat tourney. This June Faire featured the last potluck feast at a June Faire because we had grossly exceeded our ability to offer space for a potluck. There was a bardic competition.

July 28 - Feast - July 28 - Thomas Kemper's Brewery in Poulsbo

Story tellers included Lady Megaine, Lord Conrad of Masovia, and Thomas Kemper's own brewmaster. Music was provided by members of the house of Kaos and Bard in a Box. Archery was demonstrated by Lord Juan Carlos and Lord Bjorn.

Kitsap County Fair Demo - August 21 to 25 - the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton

Autocrats: Ceit Sheelin and Her Ladyship Adrienne. Feastocrats: Lady Serena and Lady Etain. It was the tenth anniversary of first shire event. The prize for the tourney was tool box with armoring tools. Co-Ed version of De-Flower the Maiden played (misleading title). A Cover Art contest for The Flames. There was an archery contest. The culinary contest for best period potluck contribution was won by Lord Swen Redbeard. The marriage of Lord Brian McGee and Lady Adrienne Barclay was presided over by Master Evan Graham. There were 44 adults and 14 smalls who attended. Heavy combat demo was planned, but Master Siegfried the Immane was unable to attend, so his planned opponent, Lord Ian, did several charge scenarios against combat archers, which included His Lordship Eric de Dragonslaire, Her Ladyship Isolde the Nimble-fingered, and others.

Dragon's Jubilee - December 14 - Masonic Hall in Bremerton

Autocrat: Lord Karl Burdettesson. An arts contest for best representation of a Yule Log in an eatable form and a non-eatable form. There were bardic contest for adults and smalls. A Middle Eastern Dance Group entertained. There were 72 adults and 17 smalls in attendance.

Candlemas Feast - February 1 - Parkwood Community Center in Port Orchard

Autocrats: Master Evan Graham and Lady Adrienne Barclay of Dunottar. Feastocrat: Lady Rycheza z Plocka (Culinary Guild). There was an archery competition across the street at Rotary field. There was an indoor fencing competition. Dance instruction was also held in the hall. Master Evan Graham of Montrose commissioned his "Graham Greys Regiment of Foot". Colonel Graham saw a layout and inspection of light infantry kits by interested fighters. Lady Megaine won the story-telling contest. Attended by 87 adults and 26 smalls.

June Faire - May 29 to June 1 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrat: Sgt. Hrollaugr Njálsson. Merchantcrat: Lord Charles of Tanglewood. Duke Thorin again won the Shire Champion's tourney. The Ransom tourney and the Dragon Meat tourneys were held. There were also a boffer tourney, a fencing tourney, archery contents. There were two weddings, including the wedding of Lord Eoghan O'Nial and Katelyn Gryffon. More than 50 people participated in the spear throwing contest. There was a bardic contest. Lord Ian was twitted, then inducted into the order of WOAW, and then received his Goutte de Sang, a very busy court. The gate count was 595+ SCA and between 2400 and 2700 moderns. We grossed over $3,900.

Dragon's Laire Mini Event - September 5 - El Rancho Montilla in Poulsbo.

Autocrat: Don Juan Carlos. Tourneys included fencing and archery, and Lights Scenarios (with ambushes).

Harvest Fest - October 3 - National Guard Armory in Bremerton

Autocrat: Karl Burdettsen. Included heavy tourney, shire fencing championship and archery. The arts contests included 3-D arts project under 3 ft cubed and one with a harvest theme. Forty six adults and 9 smalls attended.

Yule Feast - December 5 - Masonic Lodge on Bainbridge Island

Autocrats and Feastocrats: Lady Roxanne and Rhiannon. Theme: Crusade in the Holy Lands. There were merchants, gaming, and socializing. Excellent served Middle Eastern feast and wonderful entertainment including Middle eastern dancing. The event was attended by King Darius and Queen Jacyntha. (The first Culinary Guild cook book was produced for this event.)

1993

Candlemas - February 13 - Bremerton National Guard Armory

Autocrat: Lord Oswald of Dragon's Laire. Contests included pot luck contributions 'Too Pretty Too Eat' and 'Tourney Recipes'. There was archery, indoor fencing, a heavy tourney, dancing, and games. There was a smalls coloring contest. The art later graced the covers of the newsletter. About 70 people participated in the event.

June Faire - June 4 to 6 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrat: His Lordship Mateusz z Plock. Merchantcrat: Inga Calle. Duke Torgul won Champion's Tourney in a field of 40 fighters and James Carreg O’Gywen was the victor in the Ransom Tourney. Andrew Ormain the Reckless won the Dragonmeat Tourney. James O'Gywenn also won best death. Shay's lady won best inspiration. Lord Denis Duncan MacLaren won best marshal. Jondra of Blatha an Or was first in fencing. Best Longbow was Lawrence the Humble. Best Crossbow, best open class, and highest master bowman was Jorge Thorkill. There was a spearthrowing contest and a bardic competition. The first helicopter medivac in An Tir's history took place at 3:30 A.M. on Sunday at this event. Fortunately the young woman was okay and was back on site the next day. There were 605 people in attendance, over 2,500 moderns. Kitsap transit provided shuttle service for the many moderns. The event had at least 69 merchants.

Last Chance Feast and Tourney - October 9 - at Longbranch

Autocrat: Lady Serena Eame. Feastocrat: Her Ladyship Maria. Heavy tournament as well as fencing tournament. In archery, Lord Bjorn won the crossbow class, Shannon of Duramen won the open class and Lord Seamaus won the longbow class. Sir Timothy won a twelve person round robin heavy tournament and a fencing tournament. The Lechery and Flirtation class was taught by Master Cathal Sean and Lady Megaine. Baroness Anastasia (as Anya) won the best and most functional cloven fruit contest and the most period table setting contest. There was a bardic competition. There was a skittles contest entered by more than 50 people. There were many games. Her Ladyship Maria cooked a wonderful old English feast. The feast was served by many good gentles. One hundred twenty four people attended and they donated 92 cans of food for the South Kitsap Helpline.

Peasant's Yule - December 18 - at Masonic Temple in Bremerton

Autocrat: Lady Sorcha ni Murchada. There was a pinata for the kids and a kids boffer tourney. The youngest fighter, Andrew the Undying, didn't win, but gave the eventual victor, Christopher of Duramen, a run for his money. Keith the Red won the adult boffer contest. Angela Elterich bested nine other players to win Nine Man Morris tourney, despite having never played before. There was an arm wrestling contest. Murial O'Seanachain won best wreath contest. Lady Katrina Ratin won Most Decorative Bread. Lord Kormac won the Arm Wrestling. Dubh Pegiaen Stewart-Hepburn won most humorous song. The pot luck feast included beef stew provided by the shire. There were approximately 70 adults and 8 children.

1994

Candlemas - February 19 - Breidablik Hall north of Poulsbo

Autocrat: Lady Inga Calle. Earl Sir Strider in attendance as Royal Patron received a gift of a dragon candle from the populace. Activities included archery and heavy fighting, as well as contests for best vegetarian dish, best dessert, adult art for Flames covers, and a children's art contest. Sgt. Lancelot de Navarre won the heavy tourney. Lord Muirghan Rhudh of Dragon's Keep won the rapier tourney. After the potluck feast and the bardic entertainment there was dancing. At the gate 169 people signed in. This event also featured the first civilized food fight in the Shire (the practice of sending messages and food via servers instead of actually tossing food around was introduced by someone from Dragon's Laire at the Ursalmus Tourney in January of this year. Lord Raven adds, "To my knowledge the polite food fight developed in Aqua Terra at the Ursalmas just prior to this Candlemas (yes, no s**t there I was), the first target being Cossette the Nice from Dragon's Laire ( I was seated with her). Perhaps some day I'll take the time to write the story up with proper embellishments"). Besides the other games, there were more cloven fruit present than people in attendance.

June Faire (also known as June Flare) - June 3 to 5 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrats: Lord Algar de Devonshire, Lord James Douglass MacDougal, and Her Ladyship Maria Isabella de Cordoba. (The event actually began on June 2 because many people arrived early to set up and help set up.) "Musketeers-Miscreant Team Melee" on Saturday with teams chosen by draw. Fencing tourney also. Clench-a-Wench played as is traditional at this event. There was dancing. There were two weddings. Children had a boffer tourney. There were traveling bards and entertainment. Duke Thorin won the Champion's Tourney, Duke Torgul won the Ransom Tourney, Michael Wensenslaus won the Dragonmeat Tourney. Rapier was won by Earl Sir Strider's team. Spear throwing was won by: Lord's Division: Christopher of Duramen; Small's Division: Shannon of Duramen, and Lady's Division: Jora of Druim Doiniann. Nearly 70 people competed. The children had an impromptu boffer war at the Blatha an Oir castle. The event was graced by Queen Jacyntha and Princess Berengaria. There were 521 SCA members in attendance. More than 3,500 moderns came to the event.

Last Chance Tourney & Feast - October 21 to 23 - Fort Flagler in Jefferson County

Autocrats: Stephan Stewart-Hepburn and Dubh Pegiaen Stewart-Hepburn. Feast-o-crat: Briea Stewart-Hepburn. The event featured highland games, archery, a heavy tournament, a fencing tournament, many medieval games, a Scottish feast, a vicious civilized food fight and the hand-fasting of Lord Algar and Felicia. The heavy tournament was won by Lord James O'Gywenn and the fencing tournament was won by Lord Atli Olafson. A prize of cobalt glass candlesticks with very nice tapers was presented to the best new fencer (Lord Raven adds "I believe 'twas won by Robert (of Diedre's "kids" at the time), but I may be mistaken.") About 75 people attended the event.

Yule Feast - December 10th - Longbranch

Autocrat: Lord James. Feastocrat: H. L. Maria. The event featured a wonderful feast, dancing, games and Dragon's Laire's first Arts & Sciences Championship. H. L. Rycheza became Dragon's Laire's first Arts & Sciences Champion. There was also a nine mens morris competition which had 20 entrants. (Award for Judge's Choice best Science went to Raven for his An Tir rapier. James Douglass MacDougal won an award too, says Raven, but he doesn't recall which. Other awards were also presented. Judges for the championship included His Excellency Hrollaugr Njálsson, Mistress Laurellen, and... memory fails at the moment. I believe the award scrolls were penned by Her Excellency Tsuruko.) Sixty-seven people attended the event.

12th Night

At Twelfth Night of 1995 Dragon's Laire's petition to become a Barony was submitted to the Kingdom Seneschal.

Candlemas - February 10 - at Longbranch

Autocrat & Feastocrat: H. L. Rycheza z Polska. Kitchen Run by Adriana de Barclay. The highlights of this event included the first Dragon's Laire Rapier Championship which was won by Lady Anya de Chaalis of Rivers Bend; the first Dragon's Laire Archery Championship which was won by Lord Bjorn Kolbjornsson; dancing; games; a served feast; a cloven fruit contest which was won by Lady Serena; a favor contest which was won by Cossette; Stephan and Breia's handfasting; and much merriment. Approximately 97 people attended the event.

Kingdom A & S Championship - March 4 & 5 - Belfair

There was a Saturday Potluck feast in which the Barony provided the meat. The Baronial Archery Championship and Equestrian Championships were held at this event.

Candlemas - February 10 - Alderbrook Inn on Hood Canal

Autocrat: Lord Aaronaeus of Biggleswade (we call him Baron Arontius now!) Served feast by Adrienne Barclay of Dunotter. The fresh baked preztels at this feast were amazing! The first Baronial Rapier Championship was held at this event. Classes included: Leachery and Flirtation, Missle Combat-by Master Julian then Kingdom Archer. Dragonslaire Pun-Off overseen by the Grand Puntiff. There was a contest for articles and Cover Art for The Flames and there were games and Bardic activities.

Baroness' Birthday - March 10 - Port Orchard

Autocrat: Algar. An Enchanted Afternoon at Kitsap Saddle Club featuring a Persona Ransom Tourney.

Master Ed Tourney - April 13 - Port Orchard, Kitsap Saddle Club

Autocrat: Phillip Longfellow. There were Equestrian, Heavy and Rapier activities.

June Faire - May 31 to June 2 - Frank Raab Park in Poulsbo

Autocrat: Catelin Spenser. The event featured 4 Armored tournaments: Baronial Championship, Dragonmeat, Torchlight (Probably a ransom tourney as well) Three Rapier tournaments: Dragonclaw (Probably a tavern brawl)

Serjeant's Trials - August 10 - Chico

Autocrat: Mattuesz z Plocka. This was first Serjeant's Trials ever held in the Barony. Event was devoted to the trials and only the trials.

South Sound Unity Tourney - Aug 23-25 - River Glen Camp Ground in Orting

Autocrat: Eric de Dragonslaire. South Sound was a regional event, not strictly a DL one. Each of the Baronies and some shires within the region took responsibility for running some aspect of the event. At one time, not sure which years, we had regional champions chosen at this event, until the word came that regions were to only be an administrative entity not on par with a principality. The Baroness's teas hosted by Baroness Maria and put together by Lady Caroline and Saneen Games. Prizes were made and donated by Sgt. Alarcis.

Dragon Learning Day Ithra - November 1 - Givens Community Center?, Port Orchard

Autocrat: Rycheza z Plocka (at the last minute) Potluck and dayfood by HL Rycheza. Basic t-tunics, pierce-work jewelry, basic dance, Beginning bardic, embroidery, and Dutch Oven Cookery were some of the classes.

Don Jacques won the Rapier tournament. Her Majesty graced the event. 110 attended the event.

Western Regional Feast - February 20 - Kitsap Pavilion, Fairgrounds, Bremerton

Autocrat: HL Kassandra. Feastocrat: Penelope. Attendance was 140.

Ermine Cross Bardic - March 27 to 28 - Eagles Hall, Poulsbo

Autocrat: HL Ellen Frasier. This was a regional Bardic competition.

All Fools Feast - April 3 - Breidablick Hall, Poulsbo

Autocrat: Drakkus Blackrogue. Feastocrat: HL Alaura Hazel. The theme was 'The Rat Came Back'. Activities included the crowning of Magesty of Misrule, Best dressed rat competition, Bardic competition, dancing, singing, Childrens activities, and as foolish rapier tourney (silly parrying weapons preferred). There were 75 on-board and 25 off-board reservations for feast.
