Latest Changes

The website is always in transition, but now, after a complete redesign, it is even more in flux. Some links, many links, do not work. If the link doesn't take you anywhere new, it doesn't work. If you have content you'd like to see displayed on such a link, send it in! Email contacts are at the right.

We need information for events! Autocrats, hop to it!

We always love to receive stories, experiences of events, photos, photos of items, articles for the resources section (to be fleshed out very soon), and more. Please don't hesitate to submit them!

We need your persona biography, skills, likes, dislikes and a pic! See the people page for examples!

What's been done on the last update (late March, 2013), in a list type nutshell:

Note from the Webmistress

This website is built on the shoulders of giants. THL Rycheza was webmistress for a long time, and provided much of the content for many of the webpages. THL Yvon followed her as webminister and also added much content. THL Rebecca germinated the style changes which eventually resulted in the webpage as you see it. Although many things have changed drastically with the website redesign, the basics remain. Without these three individuals' contributions the Barony of Dragon's Laire would not have had a website.

Special thanks must go to my deputy webminister, THL Ian MacKynnes. He has been invaluable in chasing down arcane facts and weaving them together in a web of substance. He is an eager helper and an avid learner, and should do very well with learning the skills to eventually take over as webminister. Bravo to Ian!

Technical Stuff

This website was written entirely 'by hand', without the assistance of software driven page designers and such. Hopefully that'll make the site lean and mean.

The basic editor used is Bluefish, an open source software editor. The Webmistress can't recommend it highly enough. You can obtain it for free, here. Bluefish works on all platforms: Linux, Mac and Windows.

The website uses php and css (cascading style sheets). You can learn about both at various sites on the web, including w3schools.com and www.w3.org. It should render well in all modern browsers.
